Role of the Engineer
The Village Engineer's Office is responsible for all engineering work in the Village/Town of Mount Kisco. The Village's Consulting Engineer serves as a consultant to the Planning Board and oversees large capital projects for the Village. The Assistant Village Manager oversees the Village’s public works, which includes water, sewer, refuse collection, roadways, sidewalks, Village trees, street lighting, traffic lights, municipal lots, etc.). The Engineer's Office is responsible for issuing permits for tree removal/alteration, street and sidewalk openings, excavation and fill, backflow prevention, and drainage work. The Engineer's Office also consults on applications for Building Department permits such as retaining walls and other matters of structural integrity.
