Special Meeting Minutes - December 12, 2006

Minutes of a Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village/Town of Mt. Kisco held on December 12, 2006 at 7:30 AM in Village Hall, 104 Main Street, Mount Kisco, New York.

Present: Mayor J. Michael Cindrich

Trustee George Griffin, Jr.

Trustee Anthony Markus

Absent: Deputy Mayor Peter DiChiara

Trustee Peter Grunthal

Also Present: James Palmer, Village Manager

Meeting convened at 7:30 AM to discuss revisiting the placement of the Menorah and Nativity Scene.

Mayor Cindrich stated that he had spoken with Rabbi Butman and Rabbi Goldscheider. The Hebrew Congregation does not want to be a part of any controversy and they have agreed to place their menorah on their own property. The Mayor stated that the Village Board was invited to attend the Menorah lighting ceremony on Friday evening. Rabbi Butman wants to place his Menorah where it has always been.

The following motion was offered by Mayor Cindrich and seconded by Trustee Markus to authorize Rabbi Butman and the Chabad Lubavitch of Westchester County to place their Menorah at Village Hall for the 2006 season from December 13^th through December 28^th with the following conditions:

The exact location will be determined by the Village Engineer. The Menorah will be installed by a licensed electrician. A certificate of insurance will be provided with the Village of Mount Kisco named as an additional insured. The Menorah will be maintained by the Chabad Lubavitch of Westchester including lighting and removal, all in favor.

The following motion was offered by Trustee Griffin, Jr. and seconded by Trustee Markus to authorize the Knights of Columbus to place their Nativity Scene at Village Hall for the 2006 season with the following conditions:

The exact location will be determined by the Village Engineer. The Nativity Scene will be installed by a licensed electrician. A certificate of insurance will be provided with the Village of Mount Kisco named as an additional insured. The Nativity Scene will be maintained by the Knights of Columbus including the removal, all in favor.
