Meeting Called to order at 7:30 p.m.

Special Discussion:

  1. Mount Kisco Medical Group

90 South Bedford Road

Mount Kisco, New York 10549

Chris Sclafani representing Mount Kisco Medical Group

Chris Sclafani responded at the request of the Architectural Review Board regarding correspondences that were had with the building inspector Austin Cassidy. 90 South Bedford Road will be in the process of replacing roof top equipment and the conversations were to interpret whether roof top screening would be needed. The opinion of the applicant was that screening would not be needed since this was only maintenance and replacement of the equipment. After conversation with the board it was recommended that 90 South Bedford Road return to the board with an application for the screening and that this would be necessary for the building.

Returning Cases:

1. Chiar Scura - 111 Main Street Case #05-39

Jo & Neil Pearlman - applicants

After careful review and discussion the board voted to approve this presentation. The font for the lettering to be used should follow the fonts of the existing signage on the building. It was also noted that is to be no lighting for this sign.

Anne Houck: Motion to approve the signage as presented.

Steve Marrano: Second.

Board all ayes to approve as presented.

  1. Henry Guzman - 22 Maple Avenue Case #06-01

Marcos Lozano - representing the applicant

Discussion was had with the applicant regarding the stone work that will be placed along the foundation and the stone that will be used for the stone fence. It was advised by the building inspector that the applicant meet with the village engineer for his review. The concerns of the building inspector are the site line from the driveway which should be at least a 200 foot site line. Lighting was review and the recommendations of the board were as follows. There are only two (2) lights that will be permitted on the entrance of the stone wall. The only permitted lighting in the back of the house will be placed along the walkway and will be shielded and no more than one foot-candle. It was noted to the applicant that all of the above must be submitted in a final site plan showing all the modifications to the building department.

Anne Houck: Motion to approve application as noted above.

Kevin Kelly: Second.

Board all ayes to approve as noted.

  1. Margaret & Frank Randazzo - 403 Lexington Ave.

Case #05-49 (Plants & Things)

Presentation was made to the board for a 2 story addition. The vinyl siding to be used will match the existing building, color almond. The roof materials will be of an asphalt composition, with shingles to match the existing roof. The existing doors will remain and no new doors proposed. The front door is to be painted green and the existing rear door will be natural. The existing lighting will remain the same with no new lighting proposed. At this time the applicant made no proposal for signage and will be coming back to the ARB with that submission. There was a brief discussion regarding a temporary sign which needs no permit. The board agreed to the temporary signage Coming Soon” where the existing sign is located. Also this applicant is before the Planning Board for approvals.

Steve Marrano: Motion to approve as presented.

Anne Houck: Second.

Board All Ayes to approve this application as presented.

New Cases:

  1. Twigs Thriftree - 447 Lexington Avenue

Case #06-04

Janet Short representing the applicant

The sign that was presented to the board is a sign that was put in place before application or sign permit had been received. After the presentation was made the board agreed that the applicant should return with other options, because of the amount of text that was on the sign. Some of the text was no more than an inch high and the board felt it could not be seen therefore not necessary. Suggestions were made to the applicant for other options to simplify and were encouraged to make another submission.

No vote was taken.

  1. KB Nail - 293 Lexington Avenue

Case #06-05

Kinbae Kyoung Hua, applicant

Presentation was made to the board for a wood carved sign 19” x 153” with a background color of dark blue and gold colored lettering. This sign was also put in place before application was made for a sign permit. The concerns of the board were for the signage to follow the sign package that was put into place for this building. After review of the sign the board agreed that it conforms to the package that was established for this building. No lighting was proposed but existing lighting will be used.

Steve Marrano: Motion to approve the signage as presented.

Kevin Kelly: Second.

Board All Ayes as signage as presented.

  1. N4Fitness - 293 Lexington Avenue

Case #06-06

George Grenier, applicant

Since there is a sign package in place for this location the applicant made presentation for a wood carved sign color dark blue with gold lettering measuring 12” 6' and a width of 1' 8”. This conformed to the rest of the signage at this location. No lighting was proposed but existing lighting will be used.

Steve Marrano: Motion to approve as presented.

Kevin Kelly: Second.

Board All Ayes to approve as presented.

  1. Groomingdalz - 19 East Main Street

Case #06-07

Mathew Gish, representing the applicant

Presentation was made to the board for a shed roof style awning, with a height of 18' and a projection of 2'. The fabric is a sunbrella and the color is burgundy with crme color text. Since the presentation included a large amount of text the board suggested only the name of the business to be printed on the awning. The text consisted of Mt. Kisco, Grooming, Training, and Puppy Sales. After conversation with the representative it was suggested that a conditional approval could be given and if the applicant was not satisfied they could return to the board with other options. The awning is to have only Groomingdalz printed on it and should be centered with lettering height to be no larger than 113/4 inches high.

Anne Houck: Motion for a conditional approval as noted.

Steve Marrano: Second
